Edits are saved when you click Save changes. Review your changes before leaving the editor or exporting a transcript.
Find the moment you want to check
Open a completed recording from All transcripts or a folder. In reading mode, click a word or timestamp to jump to that part of the audio. Use Find in transcript to locate a phrase without scrolling through the entire recording.
Listen to the sentence and a little of the surrounding conversation. Context helps you distinguish a misheard word from an unfamiliar name. Confirm important numbers, dates, and quotations against the recording.
Correct the text and save your work
Click Edit above the transcript. Each timed section has a text box where you can correct spelling, punctuation, or wording. Click Save changes to keep your edits, or Discard changes to return to the saved version.
Editing a section keeps its start and end times. Exact word highlighting is no longer available for the section you changed; unedited sections keep their word timing. Keep corrections close to what was actually said if you plan to export subtitles.
Fix a repeated mistake with Find & replace
Expand Find & replace in the editor. Enter the incorrect spelling in Find and the correction in Replace with. Use Match case when capitalization matters, or Whole words to avoid replacing part of a longer word. Then click Replace all.
For example, a repeated company name can often be corrected in one pass. Review the affected sections before saving: the same spelling may refer to something different elsewhere in the conversation.
Add speaker labels manually
Enter a name in the Add speaker name field beside each relevant section. Use consistent labels such as “Interviewer” and “Guest,” or the speakers’ names. JotSonic does not automatically identify speakers in this version, so listen before assigning a label. Save your changes when the labels are ready.
Adjust section length for reading or subtitles
Expand Resegment transcript to set maximum words, seconds, and characters per section. You can also split at sentence punctuation. Click Resegment, review the result, and save. This reorganizes existing timed words; it does not run a new transcription. Manually edited sections retain their timing.
